Pediatric Dentistry

Our dentists and staff understand the needs of younger patients and can help put your child (and you!) at ease during their visit. Our comfortable offices allow your child to experience gentle care in a relaxing manner.

With professional cleanings and exams, we can quickly identify and treat any concerns, so your child can develop a healthy, beautiful smile and be on their way for a lifetime of good oral hygiene practice.

Routine Cleanings

Most patients schedule cleanings with one of our hygienists no less than every six months.

Our patients’ oral health is paramount. The dentists, hygienists and dental assistants at Dean, Israel & Associates are dedicated to helping each patient enhance their natural smile by instructing them on how to take care of their teeth through careful brushing, flossing and other preventative measures.

When our dentists perform a dental exam, they look for TMD/TMJ, evidence of teeth grinding, and offer periodontal screening and recording of gum lines. Healthy gums are the foundation for a winning smile.

We urge our patients to discuss bruxism (teeth grinding), halitosis (bad breath), sensitive teeth, jaw pain or any other discomfort they may be experiencing.

Panorex X-Rays

Digital radiography is a safer, more effective technique for making x-ray images of the teeth and mouth. One of the latest developments in digital technology is Panaflex digital X-Ray.

A panaflex x-ray takes a clear diagnostic image of your entire mouth, including the patient’s nasal area, sinuses, jaw joints on one film.

The dentists and oral surgeons at Dean, Israel & Associates use the two-dimensional images as a method to screen for oral cancers, to assess teeth and facial bone fractures, to assess TMJ or the jaw joint, to view impacted wisdom teeth, and as a screening method for bone and gum diseases.

Snoring Cessation

Obstructive sleep apnea is a debilitating sleep-related breathing disorder defined as the cessation of breathing for 10 seconds or more (apnea is a Greek word meaning “without air”). During sleep, the body’s muscles relax causing the soft tissue of the airway to collapse, obstructing the airway.

The body reacts to the closure of the airway by disrupting deep sleep enough to start breathing again, but deprives the sufferer of getting a “good night’s sleep”. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) afflicts over 40 million Americans. Untreated, OSA can lead to heart disease, strokes and excessive daytime sleepiness.

TMJ Disorder

Thousands of people in the United States suffer from TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder, which can cause jaw tension and pain, clicking in the jaw, neck pain, headaches, and hearing difficulties. TMJ therapy attempts to bring balance to the muscles, teeth, and joints through a number of possible treatments.

The experienced dentists at Dean, Israel & Associates can recommend the best therapy option based on their evaluation of your condition. To learn more about this disorder or the available treatments, please contact our Boca Raton office today.
